Parenting is probably the most difficult job you will ever have. You might find yourself wondering why your 3 year old won't stop screaming or hitting, or why your once gregarious child is now a withdrawn teenager. With only a few sessions of parent coaching, we can improve your relationship with your child.
Parent coaching unlike family therapy is time limited and focused on behavioral changes in the home with your approach to your child. There may be times when coaching will lead to a referral for outside therapy if I notice possible symptoms of depression/anxiety/or other psychological concerns that may warrant immediate intervention.
Call or email today for a free consultation.
Coaching is a more intense time focused approach to affecting change and needs complete buy in from the parents involved in the process. Coaching sessions are 70 minutes, and $275 per session. Homework will be given each session. Parent coaching can be very effective with families of teens who are experiencing anxiety, including social and academic anxiety.
Single mother's have a very difficult task ahead of them, being both mom and dad on a daily basis, and providing for their children. If you are a single mother, please mention this in our first conversation and your rate for parent coaching will be reduced.
In addition to being a licensed therapist and peripartum specialist, I have 10 years of experience as a school counselor (PPS) and parent educator. Having raised 2 sons of my own, I understand the challenges of parenting on a very personal level which affords me additional compassion for parents who are struggling.
